Our Story
A Century of History,
Decades of Hospitality
Since 1904, this elegant home has stood as a testament to craftsmanship and gracious living in the Arkansas Delta.

The William A. Short House
In 1904, William A. Short built what would become one of Helena's finest examples of turn-of-the-century architecture. No detail was overlooked in the construction of his family home.
The walls are lined with extensive quarter-sawn oak paneling, sourced from the region's 24 sawmills that once made Helena a center of the timber trade. Nine ornate mantels were custom-crafted by expert Chicago artisans—eight remain in their original locations, while the ninth now serves as our front desk, greeting every guest who walks through our doors.
The grand oak staircase, also commissioned from Chicago craftsmen, remains in excellent condition, its applied carving and millwork a daily reminder of the era's dedication to quality and beauty.
